Recruitment Scams Warning
Redpanda is aware of scams involving fraudulent interviews or offers of employment claiming to be from Redpanda by unaffiliated individuals, which can include fake websites, email addresses, group chat and text messages. Many such offers come in the form of task-based jobs - scams the United States Federal Trade Commission warns about here. Potential signs of a fake/scam job offer can include:
- Job not found on our careers page
- Abbreviated or no pre-offer live interview
- Generic outreach (any legitimate outreach from Redpanda will directly address you by name)
- No verifiable individual redpanda.com email address or inability to continue discussion via redpanda.com email
- Unsolicited offer received via SMS or WhatsApp
- Request for sensitive information, such as social security numbers, IDs or bank information during the interview process
- Request for money, including to pay fees or taxes, purchase products, work materials or verify accounts
- Compensation or reimbursement via cryptocurrency
When in doubt, ask for their redpanda.com email address to continue any pre-hire conversations.
